Steel engraving of the Council Bluffs, or Middle Mormon Ferry, which ferried pioneers across the Missouri River from Iowa to Nebraska at Council Bluffs, Iowa. There were three ferrys in the Council Bluffs vicinity. Engraving also illustrates cottonwood trees, pioneers, cattle, and wagons. Taken from Route from Liverpool To Great Salt Lake Valley / illustrated with steel engravings and wood cuts from sketches made by Frederick Piercy, edited by James Linforth, opposite p. 81.
